New 2017 Ford Galaxy Release Date, Specs & Info

Ford Motor Company is once again offering the all-new 2017 Ford Galaxy. Past users of the Galaxy will agree with me (of course there’re some exceptions) that the Galaxy embodies luxury, refinement, spaciousness, and technological advancement. It is an ideal choice especially for large families looking for a reliable people-mover. Be my guest for today, and enjoy the piece that also includes crucial details like the expected release date and price, and a score of others.

Just like the 2016 Galaxy that was the first Galaxy to use the Ford’s latest global design language with slim-line headlamps, and a sophisticated grille, the new model also enables easy seat-and load configurations. All of these configurations can happen in a push of a button. For 2017, comfort is taken a notch higher courtesy of the upgraded materials and Ford’s Multi-Contour Seats function. Rear passengers also benefit from a smoother, quieter ride quality thanks to the integral link rear suspension system.

A score of driver-assistance systems are available for drivers including but not limited to Glare-Free Highbeam technology with the LED adaptive headlights. While retaining maximum illumination for other areas, this technology fades out light that could dazzle drivers of oncoming vehicles. The Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection helps drivers avoid impacts, or reduces the severity of some frontal collisions involving pedestrians and vehicles. Last, but certainly not the least, is the Intelligent Speed Limiter technology. This system adjusts the throttle to help drivers maintain legal speed limits and avoid fines when activated.

Another notable offering that makes optimizes precision and maneuverability is the Adaptive Steering technology. Throw in a powerful twin-turbocharged 2.0L TDCi diesel engine and you’ve got a truly dependable vehicle with car-like driving dynamics for an excellent driving feel in most driving situations. According to vice president, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe – Roelant de Waard, “The refreshed Ford Galaxy has been constructed to ensure passengers get first-class safety, comfort, and versatility achieved through extensive use of witty innovations, and improved levels of refinement, efficiency, and dynamics.”

Ford has maximized usable interior space for passengers and luggage alike. And thanks to the control panel available in the cargo compartment, all the seats in the second- and third rows can easily be folded flat especially when additional cargo space is needed. All this is done through the push of a button, just like 2016 Galaxy users can attest to.

2017 Ford Galaxy Release Date & Price

2017 Ford Galaxy release date

Ford is keeping mum about the two details, at least as at the time of this review writing. Credible reports however say the new model lacks any significant changes over its immediate predecessor to warrant a notable price increase. As such, the new model should be expected to go for sale for around $29,000. As regards the release date, expect the new model sometime in the fall of 2017.

2017 Ford Galaxy Exterior

The exterior design of the new model, at least according to the Ford’s teaser images and spy photos, is sophisticated and contemporary. However, the same design language that highlighted the existing model is used. To present a strong, elegant, and mature character, the new model comes with slightly redesigned slim-line headlights that flow into the raised beltline. The exterior visibility has improved thanks to the redesigned thin window pillars and the impression given by the merging of the taillights and the window glass.

2017 Ford Galaxy Interior

While details of the interior are speculative at the moment, our spies managed to get photos that may tell us a thing or two about what we should expect. First, the interior design is sophisticated and mature. Detailing options are abundant and include charcoal metallic, aluminum, and silk black or high-gloss.

For a performance crossover, the new Jaguar F-Pace 2017 had to get optimum designs for better practicality, dynamics, and proportions. That said, Jaguar’s engineering and design teams embarked on creating the crossover SUV using the Lightweight Aluminum Architecture. The exterior profile is sleek and exceptionally aerodynamic for a car of its dimensions.

Again, the new model becomes the first model in the segment to make use of 80% aluminum metal. What this essentially means for buyers, is they should expect significant fuel savings, better aerodynamics, and improved aerodynamics due to the weight savings. In fact, Jaguar says the new F-Pace has a drag coefficient of only 0.34, realized through the extensive use of aluminum, and using state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics. Despite the changes, the new Volt is fundamentally the same. One major concern that buyers of plug-in hybrids have to contend with is the electric change, charging stations, and how long the battery power stays without fill-ups. Well, Chevrolet seems to have answered all of your prayers. Given, most plug-in hybrids more often than not offer about 10-20 miles of electric range. According to Chevy, the latest 2017 Chevrolet Volt is capable of offering you enough battery power to keep you away from the filling stations probably for weeks, if not months.

2017 Ford Expedition – Release Date and Specs

Although truck-based crossovers are fast becoming overshadowed by car-based crossovers, the redesigned 2017 Ford Expedition remains a solid choice in its segment thanks to its interior flexibility, impressive towing and cargo capacities, spacious third-row accommodations, and easy-folding rear seats. Its release date should be expected sometime in the latter half of 2017, at least for the U.S consumers.

2017 Ford Expedition exterior, black color

Are you looking for a crossover that provides remarkable hauling and towing capacities? Spacious interior accommodations? Or/and one that balances between power and size? The cargo department is also voluptuous and will probably bundle everything you throw at it.

Under its hood is a brawny turbocharged V6 engine rated at 365 horsepower that enables the Expedition offer an exciting cruising regardless of whether you on dirt of asphalt. 9,200 pounds is the maximum towing capacity the Expedition can offer when fully loaded, while 130.8 cubic ft. is the maximum volume the extended length model can stuff.

2017 Ford Expedition front angle, grille and headlights

The newest Expedition also makes use of the upgraded Sync 3 infotainment system that not only offers faster response times but is also feted for being user-friendly even for those who are often beleaguered by smartphone apps. Owning the Expedition needs a thorough assessment as it may not be an ideal vehicle for anyone. It sheer size means it will often be difficult to pack in compact city spaces. Its massive curb weight also means dieting isn’t one of its priorities, and, therefore, the fuel economy ratings aren’t impressive by any measure.

2017 Ford Expedition rear angle, tailpipe and taillights

That said, you’d probably want to ask yourself whether you actually want it or you need it. In case the latter suffices then the Expedition is highly recommended but if the former is true, then we’d suggest you check what the competition offers first. Some of its rivals include Toyota Sequoia, 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, and the GMC Yukon.

The last month was a really turbulent time for Elon Musk. Everything that could go wrong, did, and our real life superhero stood tall and proud during the entire period (as always). At the very end of this turbulence, he announced the final touches for Tesla Model 3 and the release date for the next year.

tesla-model-3-silver-front

The conference was held in Reno, Nevada. The huge room was looking at one of the largest construction sites in the world right now. That construction site is slowly becoming a Tesla Battery Gigafactory. That “giga” part stands for its size because you can easily place 107 football fields in it… and you would even have some room for parking. It’s not just the construction site that is important. The entire idea can save our planet, and that is why we all love Elon.

What Is This All About?

General plan was to make electric cars cheaper, so anyone could buy it. We are not there yet, but we are going to be, very soon.

The first thing he had to do is to get cheaper parts. Since the technology is new, everything from resources to parts manufacturers is very hard to find. If something is hard to find, it means it’s very expensive, and on the top of all, Tesla has to pay for transport, since there is a distance between parts manufacturers and the assembling factory.

By constructing this factory, Musk is going to bring down prices for the battery itself. It is going to be ten times cheaper than in 2010. The goal is to bring the price down to 100 dollars per kWh. Why? Because the price of the battery controls the third of the car’s price. The current price is 1200 dollars per kWh.

The price of the battery is going to drop because of three reasons – cheaper materials, less manufacturing time and process automatization.

Time Saving

gigafactory-model

Resources or raw materials such as lithium are nearer to the factory and Elon Musk is planning to make a railway system from Gigafactory to the car assembling factory. The railway is going to be over 240 miles long, all the way to the Fremont, Calif. So, resources are going to come into the factory, and the finished product is going to come out of it and straight to the assembling line.

In order to power that kind of a facility, he will build a solar power plant so he will not have to rely on fossil fuels at all. On the top of all “Tesla Motors” bought shares of “SolarCity” and merged those two companies into one big “Tesla” company. In future, every part of Tesla corporation is going to be powered by that merger, even the Gigafactory. And that can be a shadow of some greater plan, which shape is only noticeable.

tesla-gigafactory-picture-from-air

SolarCity

That brings us to the fourth stage of the plan. The Solar Power Plant, which can replace regular power plants by its independent nature. It started as Elon Musk’s experiment. He gave money and the idea to his cousins who founded the “SolarCity” company in 2006. Ever since it only grew larger and has its facilities in 20 jurisdictions. It’s basically using roofs to place solar panels which generate electricity. The power is used in those homes, but it can be also distributed and sold to the national grid. That same technology is going to be used in the Gigafactory.

Huge Price

tesla-model-3-black-right-side

The entire plan will cost Elon Musk about 10 billion dollars in a period of ten years. That looks like too much money for us, common men, but for him, it is a perfect plan. If everything goes accordingly, Tesla Model 3 is going to cost between 35,000 and 40,000 dollars and it will bring an annual income of 20 billion dollars.

Elon Musk will have to build more factories since he has a projected number of 500,000 Tesla Model 3’s. He is considering Europe and Asia for his “all in one” factories.

“Tesla” will spread throughout the world and maybe it will save it. Who knows. It’s an idea.

We all have ideas. maybe some ideas that could change the world, but we don’t have guts to make them into plans and over time into reality. Elon Musk has a different mind. It’s like he doesn’t have any fear. You can see that in his gesticulation and sharp thinking during media conferences. It’s like he wants to finish that stupid waste of time called talking, quickly take off those shackles and just create something new. From video game and paying service to futuristic ways of transportation and green energy. Have you heard about the “HyperLoop“? That is another story.

New 2017 Acura RDX – Release Date, Specs & Info

Its strong fuel economy, ample power, a high rear seat with generous legroom, a competitive price, and a lengthy list of standard features make the 2017 Acura RDX a solid choice for a premium small crossover. Its release date should be expected sometime in early 2017.

2017 Acura RDX side view, blue color, alloy wheels

A thorough makeover should be expected for the 2017 Acura RDX including but not limited to freshened taillights and headlights, and a new grille design. Inside, the cabin is now brightened by the plethora of new technologies and features such as a new trim, and an upgraded touchscreen display. Technologies available for this year include a blind-spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, automatic wipers, and lane-departure warning and mitigation system.

2017 Acura RDX rear view, blue color, taillights and tailpipe

The RDX debut on the market was boastful and widely seen as a high-tech wonder. It came with a sophisticated all-wheel drive system and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but failed to resonate well as it had been hoped for by Acura. So, several years later, Acura redesigned the RDX giving it a traditional V6 engine and a more conventional design for a luxury crossover SUV.

With these changes in place, the RDX garnered massive popularity in a few years and became the class leader in terms of sale’s growth and girth. And the same success spree seems to be unending with the 2017 model promising the same level of rejuvenation shown five years ago. The 2017 model comes with high-tech driving aids offered as standard features. The materials used for the cabin surfaces are comfortable and appealing for a luxury branded crossover.

2015 Chicago Auto Show

Only one engine is offered beneath its hood, a 3.5L V6 that offers a solid performance and fuel economy ratings thanks in part to the cylinder deactivation system. Fuel consumption should be expected at an impressive 23 mpg.

2017 Acura RDX rear view, silver metallic color, taillights and tailpipe

There are still a few idiosyncrasies on the 2017 Acura RDX. These include a distracting touchscreen interface, it doesn’t feel sporty as some of its rivals, and it doesn’t feel very prestigious to drive. as such, alternatives you consider include the 2017 Audi Q5, the 2017 Volvo XC60, the 2017 Lexus NX 300t, the 2017 Porsche Macan, and the 2017 BMW X1 and BMW X3.

Trims Available – Acura RDX

One well-equipped trim level is offered for the 2017 Acura RDX luxury crossover SUV. And just like the rest of Acura crossover lineup, you should expect additional optional packages. A six-speed automatic transmission system is standard, as is the front-wheel drive, the AWD is optional. The TLX is separately reviewed.

New 2017 Cadillac XT5 – Release Date and Info

The new 2017 Cadillac XT5 combines a striking design, plentiful exterior visibility, and a pleasing ride quality. It is worth a look if you’re shopping in the competitive compact luxury SUV segment. Additionally, it offers a superb handling and abundant interior space. The Cadillac XT5 release date should be expected this spring as a 2017 year model.

2017 Cadillac XT5 exterior, side angle, alloy wheels

Similar to the new 2017 CT6 luxury sedan, the automaker has also revamped its lineup that includes the XT5 by offering it a generous passenger space, lightweight construction, fresh design, and an unfamiliar name. Moving forward, Cadillac says it will rebrand its sedans and crossovers by calling the latter “XT” meaning Crossover Touring, and the former “CT” meaning Cadillac Touring.

2017 Cadillac XT5 rear view, trunk

For starters, the new 2017 Cadillac XT5 replaces the SRX. The SRX happened to be the best-selling Cadillac model, which means the XT5 has got its work cut out for it already. There are some few changes, though. The new XT5’s wheelbase relative to the SRX stretches about 2” longer. The result of this is additional interior space. Other changes that distinguish it from the latter include cool new tech features, liftgate-mounted camera, higher-end leather upholstery, and additional driver aides.

Besides the improved 2017 Cadillac XT5 interior. The new model also comes with a lighter curb weight thanks to the extensive use of lightweight materials. Again, the change here brings forth rewarding improvements in terms of fuel consumption reduction, brisk acceleration, and better riding quality. Furthermore, the exterior visibility is better than before courtesy of the enlarged and relocated side-view mirrors.

We could go on and on, but suffice to say, the new Cadillac XT5 2017 is appealing and value can be found in its pleasing road manners, adequate interior space, and distinctive styling in addition to the host of changes we’ve highlighted. Other options the segment offers include the 2017 Lincoln MKX, Lexus RX 350, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Audi Q5, and the 2017 BMW X3.

2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Release Date and Review

The new 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is the most race-ready, track-capable ever built. And for 2017, Ford Performance is adding even more features to the already high-tech smorgasbord of technologies available. Unlike in the past when customers had to choose between additional features and the Track Package, Ford has now made the package standard. This in essence means buyers will have plenty of features they want along with having the option of specifying even more, albeit at you own cost. Read more to get an in-depth analysis of what you should expect on its release date.

Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance had this to say, “Now more than ever, buyers have features they’ve wanted all along without undergoing any extra cost. This goes a long way to show how Ford Performance is always listening to consumer feedback.” For 2017, some of the new features to expect include the aforementioned Track Package which features a MagneRide damping system, engine oil, differential and transmission coolers, a high-downforce deck-lid spoiler, and aluminum tower-to-tower brace.

Three new colors: Grabber Blue, Lightning Blue, and Ruby Red Metallic that now replace the Competition Orange and Deep Impact Blue colors. Two new available packages: Convenience and the Electronics packages. The latter comes equipped with a nine-speaker audio system, voice-activated navigation, and SYNC 3 infotainment system while the former package bundles leather-trimmed power sport seats and all the existing options.

2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 spy shots

Here’s a bit of history. Ford conceptualized the GT350 nameplate as early as five decades ago. Beneath its hood was a powerful 4.7L V8 engine that offered a decent 271 ponies and was later uprated to offer 35 more ponies at the Shelby American’s shop. And it was this same place that it also got front disc brakes, larger rear drum brakes, and heavy-duty rear axles. Due to the overwhelming success the model got in its first run in the segment, Ford continued offering it more cosmetic changes than performance updates for the next 4 years. After that, the nameplate went into a long hiatus and only resurfaced from abyss in 2011 when the moniker returned as the 5th gen model.

Now in its sixth generation, the new 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 with its enormous strength and muscle, is set to take on competitors such as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and the Dodge Challenger. The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 according to rumors is set for a major revamp that will include a power improvement in among other things it is set to offer. In the meantime however, there’s the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 that comes fitted with a 7.0L naturally-aspirated V8 engine able to crank out 505 horsepower and 481 lbs. ft. of torque. The Challenger on the other side comes with a 6.4L HEMI V8 engine rated at 485 ponies and 475 lbs. ft. of torque.

2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Release Date & Price

From the ordering guide Ford has provided, the new model is slated to go for sale for $49,995- price that also takes care of the gas-guzzler tax and destination charge. This therefore means buyers stand to get more value relative to either the Challenger Hellcat or the Camaro Z28. Options are available too.

2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 release date

Pricing for the 2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R hasn’t been offered yet, but Ford is due to make an announcement soon. Its release date should be expected sometime in the 1st Q of 2017.

2017 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Exterior

Visually, the new GT350 is perhaps the meanest looking Mustang ever created. Aside from the headlamps, everything else is completely different from the base Mustang. In order to reduce drag, the whole nose has been shrunk in every direction. Away from that, there’re an assortment of aerodynamic upgrades available including angled ducts, huge hood vent, and a new splitter.

New 2017 Kia Sportage Release Date and Info

Often times, it’s hard to find style and versatility bundled together. The 2017 Kia Sportage however delivers on both counts. Furthermore, it comes with an impressive feature set that includes a smooth ride quality, nimble-feel around turns, an attractive dashboard layout, and a voluminous passenger and cargo space. Its release date should be expected sometime in early 2017.

2017 Kia Sportage exterior, side view, alloy wheels

The new 2017 Kia Sportage was unveiled during the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show by Kia Motors America. It enters its fourth generation in style by offering an all-rounded approach defined by the aforementioned features plus advanced driver assistance technologies, stiffer body structure, contemporary design, enhanced steering and suspension, and an available intelligent AWD system. As if that’s not enough, the 2017 Sportage still comes with a world-class craftsmanship, and premium materials.

This is what vice president, product planning KMA, Orth Hedrick, had to say, “The new Sportage perfectly balances thoughtful design and functionalities with a European and sporty styling thereby making it a stand out in its class. Instead of bland utility, the new model blends features such as a turbocharged engine, premium materials, and a design to kill for.”

2017 Kia Sportage rear view, white color, taillights and badges

The 2017 Sportage interior is feature laden and features an impressive level of craftsmanship. It is spacious, luxurious, and is offered with plenty of technologies for connectivity, convenience, and infotainment. The exterior also gains some much-needed changes. For one, the dimensions have increased over the existing model. To wit, the length has increased to 176.4 inches, and the wheelbase to 105.1 inches. The width and height however remain unchanged.

2017 Kia Sportage spy shots

What about the performance updates – you ask! Well, updates to the drivetrain have brought about enhanced performance and efficiency. Two engines are offered: a 2.4L four-cylinder and a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder. The 2.4L mill is equipped under the hoods of the 2017 Sportage LX and EX and produces 181 horsepower and 175 lbs. ft. of torque, while the turbo is offered for the top-of-the-line 2017 Sportage SX Turbo and offers 240 horsepower.

2017 Kia Sportage exterior, overhead view

If there’s one thing that still holds back the Sportage is its so-so fuel economy ratings. See, with a competition that includes all-rounded rivals such as the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4, the 2017 Kia Sportage finds itself between a rock and a hard place when it comes to fuel efficiency. Matters are also compounded by its meagre cargo capacity limited to just 60.1 cu. ft. compared to RAV4’s and CRV’s 73.3 cu. ft. and 70.9 cu. ft. respectively. But for someone who can live with those shortcomings, there’re bountiful of other things to love about the 2017 Kia Sportage.

Rivals include the 2017 Rav4, 2017 Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, and the 2016 Mazda CX-5. And having read what the Sportage offers, the least you could do is to take it for a test drive – at least to get a feel of what you’ll be missing out on if you decide to get one of its rivals instead.

2017 Kia Sportage Release Date & Price

2017 Kia Sportage release date

While sources are split on when its release date will take place – our best guess is early 2017 – its pricing info has already been announced. Here’re the MSRP details: 2017 Kia Sportage SX – $34,000, Sportage LX – $22,990, and the Sportage EX – $27,000.

2017 Kia Sportage Exterior

2017 Kia Sportage front angle, headlights and grille

Although changes are everywhere, the most distinct ones are available up front. The hallmark “tiger-nose” grille detailing resides vertically in the front fascia, the hood is sharply detailed, and the headlights are positioned higher than before. The engine cooling has been enhanced by the enlarged lower front clip.

2017 Kia Sportage rear angle, taillights and tailpipe

As previously mentioned, the wheelbase and the length dimensions have been stretched a bit over the existing models. And even despite the enlarged dimensions, the Sportage still remains instantly recognizable.

Exterior colors remain unchanged over the existing model.

Standard accessories to expect include a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, an auxiliary audio jack, satellite radio, a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and a five-inch touchscreen display. In depth detailing of the interior spec sheet will be available on its release date.
