More driver assistance technologies, better fuel economy, and more power, combined with an enjoyable handling and an attractive interior will undoubtedly keep the 2017 Audi A4 atop of its class. Other highlights include more interior space, and upscale materials. Its release date should be expected sometime in early 2017.
The changes the new model comes with are subtle and you’d need to put the outgoing model aside it to discern design changes, however, the 201 model is fully redesigned under the panels. Several performance tweaks have also been effected and the A4 now offers a better handling and steering precision that will enable it firm up its sporting credentials.
A new package of safety and driver assistance technologies will be offered, notably upgrades to the adaptive cruise control system, steering and braking. Others include parking assist, forward collision warning and rear-cross traffic alert.
Audi still continues with its long tradition of offering a fit-and-finish and luxury grade materials to its cabin. The standard 7-incg touchscreen interface has been replaced by the more intuitive and driver-centric 8.3-inch display with Wi-Fi and navigation. Also, the conventional analog dashboard has been replaced by the optional 12.3” LCD Virtual Cockpit screen that is able to display a customized set of a large navigation map, trip and vehicle information, and gauges.
When it comes to practicality, the cabin now offers more leg- and headroom due to the added body dimensions that have added some breathing room in its interior. Its interior is crisp and offers a beautiful stance just like in the outgoing model. There is a choice of either 17/18” wheels, and the exterior grille has a blunted nose that also help the A4 preserve its swagger.
2017 Audi A4 Engine Specs
Inspiration for the new 2017 Audi A4 is offered by a four-cylinder 2.0L turbocharged engine good for 248 hp and 273 lbs. ft. of torque – a power bump of about 15 pounds-ft. of torque and 32 horsepower.
Plans are underway to offer a four-cylinder 2.0L diesel engine for the first time in its history, however, there have been some concerns about its fuel emissions that, according to Audi, could further delay it.
Both engines will be offered with a standard front-wheel drive, as is the seven-speed automatic transmission system. And just like in the outgoing model, a Quattro all-wheel drive will be offered as an option.
Although the fuel economy estimates are yet to be announced by EPA, Audi hopes the lighter weight and more aerodynamic exterior will aid it improve on its existing ratings that stand at 25 mpg combined. We’re still compiling more data on its top speed, so check back for more updates.
Its however impossible to ignore the excellence of its rivals, as appealing as the A4 is. Of course, the usual suspects include the 2017 Acura TLX, the Cadillac ATS, the BMW 3 Series, Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50 2017, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The A4 Premium Plus trim model offers a black cloth headliner, front sport seats, 19” wheels, a black rear diffuser, a sport shift knob, adjustable driver settings, flat-bottomed steering wheel, a body-color rear spoiler, a rearview camera, synthetic suede/leather upholstery, and piano black interior displays.
