The 2017 GMC Acadia is among our list of favorites thanks to its premium interior, generous passenger space, and a comfortable ride quality. Furthermore, it offers a long list of available features, a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine, and multiple interior configurations. The GMC Acadia 2017 release date should be expected sometime this fall.
The GMC Acadia has been a favorite large family mover especially for American families who are in need of plenty of cargo room, and generous passenger space. It is upscale, styling, and reeks of American flare. Most of its buyers say it is better than a minivan in all facets of their construction – and that’s an understatement.
It doesn’t come cheap especially if you’re comparing it to the Chevrolet Traverse courtesy of the handsome design and near-luxury cabin quality it offers. The same tradition that has highlighted its existence continues with the 2017 model, but there’s one change though – the 2017 GMC Acadia dimensions have reduced a tad bit.
To wit, it sits 4-inches lower, is 3-inches narrower, and is 7-inches shorter than before. The result of this redesigns is a reduced cargo volume, passenger space, and third-row legroom. Unlike its immediate predecessor, the new model maxes out at seven passengers as the third-row bench seats only two.
Another imperative change is the reduction of weight, which General Motors estimates to be 700 pounds relative to the existing model. The reduced diet is expected to impact positively on the fuel economy ratings, maneuverability, and handling. More specifically, GMC expects the four-cylinder, front-wheel drive model to return fuel economy ratings of around 28 mpg in highway driving well and above the current rating of 24 mpg.
An add-on to the existing trim lineup is also a welcome change. It is an off-road oriented model called the Acadia All-Terrain model. This will now bring the total models to four. The existing lineup consists of three core trims – SLE, SLE, and Denali. The SLE and SLT are further broken down to SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1 and SLE-2.
