The 2017 Hyundai Azera comes in as a sigh of relief in a segment largely known for its conservative design thanks partly to its smooth ride quality, a long warranty coverage, a whisper-quiet cabin, and plenty of standard features. Again, it is suitably luxurious and offers plenty of space for up to five passengers. Its release date should be expected in the first quarter of 2017, if online rumors are anything to go by.
Boring days of yore are gone courtesy of full-size sedans like the Azera. There’s a time when one felt like they had purchased a rental car if they were shopping in the full-size sedan segment. The exterior is largely defined by the rather sharp creases and lines while the interior is highlighted by the alluring cabin design that is chock full of functionality.
Hyundai has this year made headlines with several notable releases including its large Hyundai Santa Fe Sport model, and the midsize Sonata lineup that includes the regular, the Hybrid, and the Hybrid Plug-In model. Even with the premium features stripped, the Azera comes with plenty of desirable options for the money such as a blind-spot warning system, cruise control, lane-departure warning, frontal collision assist, and a navigation system. What’s even more, it still comes with smartphone app features such as Siri Eyes Free integration.
Beneath the hood, it comes fitted with a 293-horsepower – generating 3.3L engine. This power fires up the front wheels via the six-speed automatic transmission system. 0-60 mph takes a healthy 6.8 seconds. The driving dynamics, to say the least, offer a smooth ride quality. The interior is cavernous and passengers will enjoy ample head- and legroom.
Nevertheless, the Hyundai Azera isn’t the only choice here. There’re others that give it a run for its money. Such vehicles include the Chrysler 300, Toyota Avalon, Buick LaCrosse, and the Kia Cadenza. These rivals offer anything ranging from an appealing blend of quality, comfort and performance to thrifty fuel consumption, and rear-wheel drive performance.
2017 Hyundai Azera Release Date & Price
