The new 2017 Infiniti QX70 manages to stand out from the rest of its rivals in a number of areas including its sporty performance, distinctive styling, easy-to-use technology interface, and its boatload of accessories. Well, while that may be true to some extent, the QX70 lacks the versatility that some of its rivals capitalize on immensely, and considering its supposed to be one of its core functions, some buyers may be swayed to look elsewhere. Well, you are the judge at the end of the day! Read on for more details concerning its release date, price, changes on interior and exterior, engine specs, and whatnot.
The luxury crossover SUV segment is a hotly contested one and continues to become an even hotter rod in terms of rivalry every passing day. What this means is that new releases have to have that edge that distinguishes them from the rest of the offerings. While utility and performance are some of the core functions, they are, by and large, the common denominator across the entire segment and thus automakers have to constantly come up with unique innovations.
The 2017 Infiniti QX70 – our primary focus in this piece – comes with several important changes and modifications that the automaker hopes will help the scales to its advantage. From a vantage point of view, the Infiniti QX70 grows both girth and sales volumes every year, and therefore demonstrates consumer loyalty thanks to its reliability, performance, and pricing structure. The latter is perhaps one single most factor that enders many to this little known product especially in comparison to German vehicles that cost an arm and a leg.
It is sporty courtesy of the low, swooping roof line that crowns the body beneath. And just like the model it is replacing, offers a premium-laden interior, sporty driving manners, and excellent fit and finish. Whereas we applaud the efforts Infinity have invested in offering the QX70 with a near-exquisite interior with luxury trappings, it still comes a distant second to German rivals.
As is often the case, certain concessions have to be made in order to make a vehicle competent in its class while still making its pricing within reach of many. That said, the new RX-7 falls short in terms of a bantamweight towing capacity, lack of another engine choice, mediocre passenger and cargo space, and stiff on the highway. Those shopping in this segment should consider also checking out other vehicles in its class such as the Porsche Macan, 2017 BMW X3, and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The Acura MDX and the Volvo XC90 are also other alternatives.
2017 Infiniti QX70 Release Date & Price
Its release date has already been announced, and Infinity says should be expected sometime in the spring of 2017. Pricing, on the other hand, has been left open for speculation, at least as per the time of this writing. Industry pundits put its most probable pricing formula at around $45,850 MSRP starting point.
