The new 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee impresses with its irrefutable off-road ability, a diverse engine lineup, an outlandish Cherokee SRT model, well-trimmed cabin, high-tech and luxury amenities, and a fuel economy diesel engine. It is a midsize SUV that does a little of everything and there is no doubt that it will make it to the top cream of the segment. Expect the Cherokee release date sometime in the first half of next year.
There are plenty of appealing features that Jeep offers the 2017 model including but not limited to a new shift lever, a standard stop-start feature that saves fuel by shutting off the engine whenever the vehicle comes to a halt, weight reductions, a new Altitude package, selectable performance features, and a new gauge cluster.
For starters, the Cherokee was once regarded a staple in the traditional midsize SUV segment thanks to its dizzying features and technologies, and off-road prowess. However, the status quo has continued to be challenged by more spirited and fresher models that have recently thronged the segment and offer matching or even better features than the now-regarded endangered Cherokee.
But for 2017, Jeep banks on the new features and tweaks that it has offered for the Cherokee in order to revive its once revered standing in the segment. There is lots of value offered by the newest Cherokee in terms of its subtle exterior modifications and interior changes, and performance-related tidbits.
The ride quality is smooth thanks to the improved suspension system and the luxury-laden interior and therefore suitable even for everyday driving. Under the hood, the “JGC” offers a tantalizing array of powerplants that make it stand out from the rest of segment. Here, you can opt for whatever power and capability suits you raging from the base engine to the V8 behemoth. Or the torque-rich and fuel efficient diesel V6. Also offered is the top-of-the-line 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT that not only provides a stunning performance but is also offered with a rock-bottom price tag relative to its German rivals.
If you like the idea if a five-passenger SUV that pretty much does everything thrown at it, we highly recommend the new 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. But if you’re looking for something more inclined to one specific capability, then you should check out its rivals such as the Toyota 4Runner, the VW Touareg, and the 2017 Dodge Durango.
