The latest Lincoln MKX redesign brings with it features such as better comfort amenities, a whisper-quiet interior, a strong turbocharged option, tons of features for the money, and a spacious backseat. It’s certainly worth a look for anyone looking for a competitive midsize crossover SUV. The 2017 Lincoln MKX release date should be expected sometime this fall.
Its debut into the market eight years ago was met with a lot of negative vibe and we actually recommended buyers to first try out other alternatives before making a decision to buy the Lincoln MKX. Our endorsement of its rivals was necessitated by the fact other vehicles in its class offered better a cabin layout, were more powerful, and were offered in a competitive price package.
The lackluster first impression still remained relevant in the intervening years. However, the existing model – which is the second generation model – came with plenty of desirable qualities that softened our stand, but what evokes an even more appealing attitude seems to be the 2017 Lincoln MKX.
Even with its mechanical underpinnings based on the 2017 Ford Edge, the new Lincoln MKX 2017 is a likable product on its own. Even the standard model comes equipped with tons of luxury and upscale technologies. The higher trims further make an overstatement with features such as a nineteen-inch Revel Ultima sound system, and a 22-way front seats.
Besides the 2017 Lincoln MKX interior highlights, performance is also another area where Lincoln deserves a thumbs up. It comes equipped with a 3.7L V6 engine that generously offers an output rated at around 303 horsepower and 278 lbs. ft. of torque. There’s also a turbocharged 2.7L V6 that further heightens the power output to around 335 horsepower and 380 pounds-feet of torque. A slew of driving aides are also offered.
Several foibles do exist however. The interior of the MKX doesn’t feel as exquisite as its competition, the rear visibility is also hampered by the small rear window and thick roof pillars, and the MyLincoln Touch interface is beyond frustrating but there’re rumors of a Sync 3 system debut. Alternatives are in plenty and it happens that the Lincoln MKX finds itself between a rock and a hard place as the level of competition here doesn’t seem to be within its reach.
2017 Lincoln MKX Release Date & Price
Rumor has it that it is set to go for sale sometime this fall, although this is marred in several conspiracy theories. Pricing, on the other hand, is under wraps, as of this writing, we however expect the base model to go for sale for an MSRP starting from around $38,260.
