2017 Acura ILX – Release Date, Review and Specs

With a spacious rear seat for its class, a low base price, a sporty driving feel, and a generous list of standard features, the new 2017 Acura ILX could be seen as a sensible choice for a compact luxury sedan. However, its category provides shoppers with some worthy alternatives that offer lots of value for the money. Its release date should be expected sometime in the beginning of 2017.

2017 Acura ILX side view, blue color, alloy wheels

Evert since it debuted in the automobile scene a couple of years ago, the ILX is yet to finally have its standout moment in its class. This isn’t to mean however that it lacks the looks, comfort and luxury amenities like the rest of its competition, it is mostly due to its lack of advanced safety features and a potent base engine that has robbed it its worthy place.

2017 Acura ILX rear view, silver color, taillights and alloy wheels

For 2017, however, the new model comes with some updates aimed at bringing it to parity with rest of the competition. The engine, for example, has been upgraded to a 2.4L four-cylinder and with it is a power generation of about 201 horsepower and 180 lbs. ft. of torque. It is also worth noting that the torque has been increased slightly relative to the outgoing model.

2017 Acura ILX front angle, headlights and grille

As for safety features, the ILX has for the first time in its brief stint at its category provided technologies such as blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert, automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, a rearview camera, frontal collision warning and mitigation, and lane-departure warning and mitigation.

2017 Acura ILX blue color, front view, grille, headlights

And icing to the cake, it gets all this without any adjustment to its previous price.  Exterior wise, t is now more handsome-looking, and comes with some mild headlights and taillight redesigns but you’ll probably find it difficult to differentiate it from the previous model unless you’re eagled eyed.

2017 Acura ILX side angle, white color

Its cabin offers easy ingress and once inside you’ll be amazed by the plethora of standard features and accessories available. Many foibles exist, nonetheless. We take issue particularly with the level of interior refinement. It is uninspiring for a luxury sedan and many of its rivals offer a much better refinement. The acceleration is mediocre while the tire, road, and wind noise is apparently pertinent.

2017 Acura ILX rear view, blue color, tailpipe

Even for the tech-savvy generation, things haven’t improved, either. To cut the story short, there remains much to be desired. Some of the excellent alternatives you can check out include mainstream sedans like the 2017 Honda Accord, and 2017 Ford Fusion. Others include the 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, and the 2017 Audi A3.

New 2017 Acura TLX – Release Date and Review

With a quiet interior, value for the money, a responsive handling, generous rear legroom, and a competitive price, the new 2017 Acura TLX is a top choice. In overall, though, the model remains unchanged in most respects. Its release date should be expected sometime in the second quarter of next year, at least according to various online sources.

2017 Acura TLX side view, silver color, alloy wheels

It offers a more athletic stance thanks to the Honda Accord platform which it is based on. The TLX in comparison to the Accord, is wider and slightly shorter that the Accord’s 109.3” wheelbase. It also earns its keep as a luxury-badged vehicle due to the extensive number of upgrades and upscale styling that it offers.

2017 Acura TLX rear taillights and badges

Under the hood, the TLX offers an inline-4 2.4L and a 3.5L V6 engine capable of whipping up a healthy 206- and 290 horsepower respectively. The V6 is more potent, but you’ll have to push up the revs in order to get a serious acceleration. The four, on the other hand, is a perfect family sedan but is overshadowed by its luxury-brand competitors which offer turbocharged fours.

2017 Acura TLX side view, silver color, headlights and alloy wheels

As opposed to full pedal-to-the-metal theatrics, rivals offering super- or turbocharged engines have that one distinct advantage – they generate a quick burst of power which translates to more speed. The solid fuel economy ratings offered on paper for the TLX are hard to deliver in a real-world setting, partly maybe because the TLX’s engines have to work harder to deliver the goods.

2017 Acura TLX exterior, side view, alloy wheels

But very few people will tell you they’re buying the TLX because of its power, you purchase it mainly because it’s an Acura – the brand that is popular associated with value, nicely furnished interior, and general all-roundedness. You’ll also realize that its European counterparts with similar level of technologies are often expensive, cost more to repair, and they also tend to depreciate faster in value.

2017 Acura TLX rear view, taillights and tailpipe, auto show

In Layman’s language, opting for the TLX can save you lots of money while ensuring a top level luxury and a laudable performance. There are plenty of alternatives which you can check out, if you’re not sold on prudence just yet. They include the oldie-but-goodie 2017 Audi A4, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the 2017 BMW 3 Series.

Trims Available – Acura TLX

Three main trims – base, Technology, and Advance – are offered for the 2017 Acura TLX midsize luxury sedan. The 2017 Acura TLX Type S is separately reviewed.

Finally, the V6 Advance package winds up with automatic braking, side auto-dimming mirrors, LED foglights, rear and front parking cameras, additional optional exterior colors, 18” wheels, forward collision mitigation system, and ventilated front seats.

2017 Acura TLX Engine Specs

Inspiration for the 2017 Acura TLX is derived through two available engines. The first mill offered is a 2.4L engine good for 206 hp and 182 lbs. ft. of torque. It comes paired with a standard eight-speed automated transmission system and a front-wheel drive. With this mill, Acura says zipping from 0-60 mph only requires 7.4 seconds.

2017 Acura TLX engine

Its top speed, and fuel economy ratings should be expected months leading to its release date, as there are a lot of speculations surrounding the two.

2017 Acura TLX engine view

The other engine offered is a 3.5L V6 paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission system. The output stands at about 267 pounds-ft. of torque and 290 ponies. With the V6, expect to zip to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds – a fairly brisk acceleration in a segment where a majority only need about 6.1 seconds.

2017 Acura MDX – Release Date, News and Rumors

The new 2017 Acura MDX offers lots of value for the money, excellent top crash-tests scores, an adept handling, a hush cabin, a confident acceleration, and familiar comfort, value, and performance. Its release date should be expected sometime at the middle of next year, although it still a contentious issue as of this writing.

2017 Acura MDX exterior, side view, alloy wheels

The popular 2017 Acura MDX is almost back again on the market, and comes with some of the latest nitty-gritties as standard and a slew of standard features. The MDX has a solid reputation for offering a strong reliability and resale value, and this is especially true for the new 2017 model.

2017 Acura MDX exterior, rear view, taillights, tailpipe and alloy wheels

Numerous updates and exterior and interior changes should be expected once the MDX is released to the market. Our spy photos reveal Acura has made some changes to the existing color palette and buyers should look out for more additions. Other exterior add-ons are mild and include rejuvenated headlight and taillights design.

2017 Acura MDX front angle, headlights and grille

On its interior, plenty of upscale features and technologies have been offered. Equipment, for example, include a nine-speed automatic transmission system, a blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert, automatic braking, a rearview camera, and lane-departure warning and mitigation. Throw in Acura’s rewarding driving dynamics and you’ve got yourself an excellent three-row luxury crossover.

2017 Acura MDX front view, red color, headlights, grille and alloy wheels

It is satisfying to ride on the road. Its cabin is quiet and the drive quality is surprisingly athletic especially at around turns. The 3.5L V6 engine offered under its hood may lack a solid rpm figure, but winding it out a bit will make you realize that it can actually be one of the quickest in its segment.

2017 Acura MDX side angle, silver metallic color, alloy wheels

Few foibles exist, however. They include a dim-witted adaptive cruise control, a modest cargo capacity, subpar graphics, and a less-luxurious feeling cabin look. Even so, the new 2017 Acura MDX is arguably the most sensible choice in the segment of midsize luxury SUVs.

2017 Acura MDX rear view, silver color, taillights and alloy wheels

Alternatives you can consider in the segment include the 2017 Audi Q7 and the 2017 Volvo XC90. They are both versatile, fuel-thrifty, and have a more restrained design. Others include the 2017 Honda Pilot, the 2017 Infiniti QX60, and the 2017 BMW X5.

New 2017 Acura RDX – Release Date, Specs & Info

Its strong fuel economy, ample power, a high rear seat with generous legroom, a competitive price, and a lengthy list of standard features make the 2017 Acura RDX a solid choice for a premium small crossover. Its release date should be expected sometime in early 2017.

2017 Acura RDX side view, blue color, alloy wheels

A thorough makeover should be expected for the 2017 Acura RDX including but not limited to freshened taillights and headlights, and a new grille design. Inside, the cabin is now brightened by the plethora of new technologies and features such as a new trim, and an upgraded touchscreen display. Technologies available for this year include a blind-spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, automatic wipers, and lane-departure warning and mitigation system.

2017 Acura RDX rear view, blue color, taillights and tailpipe

The RDX debut on the market was boastful and widely seen as a high-tech wonder. It came with a sophisticated all-wheel drive system and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but failed to resonate well as it had been hoped for by Acura. So, several years later, Acura redesigned the RDX giving it a traditional V6 engine and a more conventional design for a luxury crossover SUV.

2017 Acura RDX front view, silver metallic color, headlights and alloy wheels

With these changes in place, the RDX garnered massive popularity in a few years and became the class leader in terms of sale’s growth and girth. And the same success spree seems to be unending with the 2017 model promising the same level of rejuvenation shown five years ago. The 2017 model comes with high-tech driving aids offered as standard features. The materials used for the cabin surfaces are comfortable and appealing for a luxury branded crossover.

2015 Chicago Auto Show

Only one engine is offered beneath its hood, a 3.5L V6 that offers a solid performance and fuel economy ratings thanks in part to the cylinder deactivation system. Fuel consumption should be expected at an impressive 23 mpg.

2017 Acura RDX rear view, silver metallic color, taillights and tailpipe

There are still a few idiosyncrasies on the 2017 Acura RDX. These include a distracting touchscreen interface, it doesn’t feel sporty as some of its rivals, and it doesn’t feel very prestigious to drive. as such, alternatives you consider include the 2017 Audi Q5, the 2017 Volvo XC60, the 2017 Lexus NX 300t, the 2017 Porsche Macan, and the 2017 BMW X1 and BMW X3.

Zipping from 0-60 mph, according to Acura, should be expected in just under 6.5 seconds.

2017 Honda Acura NSX Release Date, News and Rumors

2017 Honda Acura NSX – The Honda Acura NSX was meant to deliver an intuitive and immediate dynamic experience, exceptional handling, and ultra-powerful yet easily controlled brakes. Working in a seamless synergy, these features were to revolutionize the supercar performance by offering drivers the at-the-limit dynamic capabilities in every type of driving environment. Want to be kept abreast with the latest Honda Acura NSX news? Then read on to get the most comprehensive updates on its release date, price, and interior/exterior changes.

2017 Honda Acura NSX exterior, side angle, alloy wheels

Just like its predecessor, we love how the new model offers a driver-centered cockpit and sharp handling. So for 2017, highlights to be expected include great exterior visibility, strong fuel economy and strong acceleration, and easily accessible handling for both experienced and novice drivers. Well, with a twelve-year hiatus, it might be natural to wonder: What exactly has Acura been working on for more than a decade? Well, it’s a no-brainer fact that the new model has been built to offer the ultimate experience to anyone – novice or experienced – with an exceptional performance.

2017 Honda Acura NSX spy shots

To start off with, the new Honda Acura NSX 2017 is still Acura’s flagship car only this time it’s been engineered to rival the world’s best. The new model is much more complex machine that boasts of a trio of electric motors, a twin-turbo V6, and an all-wheel drive system unlike the previous model which was rear-wheel drive and had an elemental engine. What however remains unchanged is the cutting-edge structure both models have. The new model has been created with a structure of unprecedented dynamic rigidity thanks to the multi-material body and space frame.

2017 Honda Acura NSX rear view, blue color, tailpipe and badges

The design and packaging of the new model has been optimized by the “advanced sports package” that seeks to epitomize all the performance components such as the Sport Hybrid power unit, chassis, interior, and the Intelligent Power Unit. Additionally, the new model has the lowest center of gravity relative to its traditional rivals. The centered mass and the low center of gravity pay dividends in response and handling. The centered mass, for instance, helps the vehicle minimize the polar moment, making the NSX reduce rotational kinetic energy and respond faster to steering inputs. In Layman’s language, the Honda Acura NSX is easier to stop and easier to turn the rotation.

Once available the 2017 McLaren 570S and the Audi R8 are some of the rivals the vehicle under review will have to square it out with.

2017 Honda Acura NSX Release Date & Price

2017 Honda Acura NSX release date

Pricing for the model has been set at $157,800 MSRP. The price could however balloon if one decides to add some of the available options such as the Technology Package, Technology Package with SiriusXM Radio, and mechanical, interior, exterior options.

2017 Honda Acura NSX Exterior

2017 Honda Acura NSX front angle, headlights and grille

The exterior of the new model is an integration of exceptional supercar performance and exotic supercar aesthetics. The vehicle’s overall dimensions, air flow inlet/outlet, body panel crease or shape have been designed a New Sports eXperience via the “form following function” concept and the “Interwoven Dynamic” overarching design theme. Honda says, the exterior body panel surfaces have been carefully calculated through thousands of complex computational fluid dynamics man-hours.

2017 Honda Acura NSX exterior, overhead view

This is what exterior design project leader Acura Design Studio, Michelle Christensen had to say, “Every design element, every millimeter of the new NSX is focused on enhancing performance. The result being visual expression of performance and beautiful designs working together.”

2017 Honda Acura NSX rear angle, taillights and tailpipe

The front fascia is sleek thanks to features such as a tapered front grille, Acura Jewel Eye LED headlights, and a chiseled aluminum hood. A choice of eight exterior colors is available. And according to Honda, each color in the palette has been carefully engineered and selected to usher in a new level of paint quality and to accentuate the exterior’s bold design.

2017 Honda Acura NSX Interior

2017 Honda Acura NSX interior, dashboard, steering wheel and gear shift knob

The driving experience has been optimized through features such as a driver-focused interior design, and carefully-crafted layout, technology, shapes, and materials. Again, the NSX has been designed to offer intuitive, quality, and advanced technologies, and outstanding comfort.

2017 Honda Acura NSX interior, leather seats

Some of the standard accessories to expect include keyless ignition and entry, a seven-inch touchscreen display, smartphone app integration, an eight-speaker sound system, and a dual-zone automatic climate control.

Safety

2017 Honda Acura NSX safety

Although the Honda Acura NSX is expected to be a top dog in the supercar segment, it is surprising to note that it doesn’t come equipped with features such as automatic braking, collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring. Automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle locating, and emergency assistance systems are however available as standard safety features. Details of its crash impact safety assessment will be updated on this space on its release date.
